Salleigh is a beautiful black factored, melanistic, black and red female sired by our Frankeigh out of Iveigh.
Salleigh has her dad's physical type, and her mothers personality and drive make up. Salleigh is a busy girl when there is something fun to do, and a chill girl when their isn't. She loves to chase squirrels, herd her friends around, and get into everyone's business.
She is a fun and sweet dog, who loves lap time and is up for any adventure or activity on the schedule. She is super easy to train, but doesn't require any training or management to be an outstanding companion.
While Salleigh is a very drivey girl, who loves toys, food, and learning, she has a solid confident common sense temperament and she is easy to live with. She is great in public, on walks, and at events where she is dependable and appropriate in every situation. Salleigh is a pretty girl who grabs attention where ever she goes and while she may look intimidating with her solid black head and direct gaze, she is happy to make new friends and is kind hearted with puppies and our little beagles.
Salleigh's pedigree is a mix blood out cross with German working lines from her sire Rambo, and German show lines from her mother Indeigh. Her tail female line goes all the way back to Susanne's first GSD Quinta v Westfork, through Frisco v d burg Austerlitz to Amy Arnoux -Bette Arnoux to Quinta- Andeigh- and Iveigh and she is a great representative of this line moving forward.
*Salleigh has a Grade 2 UAP diagnosis from OFA. Salleigh smashed her elbow into a sharp corner at full speed when she was 6 months old and separated her aconeal process which did heal but did not fuse back. We have submitted her radiographs to 4 different radiologists and there is no consensus on either the exact DX or if the separated AP could be inherited or due to the accident. Salleigh has had 1 litter of 10 puppies who are all nearing 2 years as of late 2025 and none of them has had any symptoms of UAP/FCP OR a diagnosis of UAP/FCP. For this reason we are going to assume the accident and injury to the elbow is the reason for the ununited aconeal process DX until there is evidence to the contrary. Salleigh is completely sound, fit as a fiddle, exercises and works her body hard and in 2025 will make her debut in coursing and fast cat. I know a lot of people will dislike this approach, but I do not like to remove good dogs from the breed over injuries and at this point the elbow injury seems to be the reason for the DX. If we find any hint that Salleigh is producing ED at a higher rate than the breed standard 20% we will spay her but at present her ED rate in her progeny is 0% so we are choosing to preserve her genetics in the breed.
