Basil is a classic 13 inch beagle, she's small but oh so mighty!   Basil is built for power, she's fast and agile, which is no surprise since her parents and pedigree are filled with amazingly accomplished sport beagles with upper level titles in agility, rally, scent work, and AKC conformation.    Like her family behind her Basil is a fantastic combination of beauty, brains, and in her case, more than a little  brawn.    Basil is Rebecca's first beagle and Susanne's favorite lap potato.

Basil is a calm and good natured beagle who very typical of her breed loves to train and learn and sleep on your lap in equal measure.   She is a delight to train, has super food and toy drives, so training her feels almost like cheating.    But when you're done Basil is delighted to nap on your lap, or in any available sunbeam.

We have become very enthusiastic Beaglers, they complement our GSDs perfectly because they are fit and robust enough to play and roughhouse with the big dogs without any worry of getting knocked about by the bigger dogs.   They are super athletic and healthy dogs that can keep up with us on all our hikes and adventures.  With a happy, easy, merry disposition beagles are super fun to train and make outstanding little adventure buddies, hobby sport, and show dogs, even for  "not so active" families.  Frankly, I think beagles are a hidden gem of the small dog world!  Great for sport, show, and honestly if you just want a healthy, fit, companion dog to enjoy.
