Susanne has been involved in the GSD since 1990, she has bred over 75 litters under the kennel name von der burg Austerlitz, and her breeding program spans over 5 generation of home bred German Shepherds.    She has devoted her life to the study of the breed, bloodlines, and learned from some of the best German breeder/judge mentors.

For decades Susanne has been extremely involved in the world of dog training.   Starting as a sport focused trainer she has put over 100 show and sport titles on her dogs and competed at the local, regional, and national level.   As a USCA and WDA club member and officer Susanne has also organized, managed, and stewarded at breed shows and trials at the club, regional, and national level where she was privileged to learn from some of the best German judges of the day.

As a professional trainer and proprietor of Clickety Split Dog Training Susanne has helped countless dog owners find happiness with their companion dogs, this work has also increased Susanne’s awareness and understanding of the needs of the companion dogs owner.

While her breeding program was previously focused on producing top sport and show dogs she has now retired from serious competitive activities and the politics of the breed clubs, so her breeding program has changed focus to reflect her current goals, the needs of her current companion focused clients, and to combat some of the deleterious trends in health, temperament, and structure the breed has experienced over the last decade.   While retired from the competition scene Susanne’s focus on the German Shepherd has not waned in the slightest, she continues to be passionately involved in the preservation of the German Shepherd breed and her bloodlines.
